Being a busy mom, can sometimes limit the time we have to get out of the house without the kids. With all of the 5 million things we do each day making time to workout can be hard. It can be even harder trying to get out and get to the gym.
That is why it is important to me be able to workout at home when the time is short. I decided to set up a home gym and I I will share my 5 must have pieces of equipment that everyone should have. With so many different workout equipment to choose from, the indoor treadmill to the eliptical.
5 Must Have Pieces of Equipment for Your Home Gym
Weighted balls are usually used for strength training. I usually use this when I’m doing ab exercises. This is a great Youtube video using the medicine ball.
A Yoga or some form of foam mat is a great addition to home workouts. It really helps if you have a hard floor to offer support and comfort. It also assist with slippery floors. Amazon has a great selection of mats to choose from.
Jumping rope is probably one of the best cardio activities there is. It is a real calorie burner because its a full body workout. Shape magazine discussed a great workout to try.
Resistance bands comes in the forms of bands, tubes, and loops. The bands have multiple usage for a full body workout. Bands come in different resistance from low to heavy. They can be for a maximum burn or for stretching. This video shows a number of great exercises using tube bands.
Dumbbells are probably the most well know pieces of workout equipment. The dumbbells are used for arms, back, and shoulder workouts. They come in many different weights from one pound up to 50 or more pounds. You can achieve a lot just by getting 2-3 pair of dumbbells in 2, 5, and 10 pounds. Amazon also sells a great adjustable weight set that is great or you can hit up your local Walmart or Target.
These pieces of equipment are easy to store in your house which can be used in multiple ways. The workout equipment that I shared is easy to use and they have great effects on the body.
